better gas mileage

One good way for you to increase gas mileage is to check on conditions further down the road than you normally do.

Every driver keeps an eye on their immediate surroundings, watching for potential hazards and situations they might need to deal with. But if you scan further down the road often you’ll be able to spot traffic slowdowns, road construction, stop signs, red lights, and other things that may cause you to have to slow down or stop.

When you see something that may make you have to slow down or stop, simply lift your foot off the accelerator pedal to begin slowing down early instead of continuing at full speed and having to brake hard when you approach the slowdown. This will help you increase gas mileage and it’s also safer than roaring up to a situation where other drivers have already had to slow down.
